Mobile Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the mobile application Tarxien Temples (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Otus Malta ("Owner", "we", "us"). The Application is designed for Heritage Malta ("Client") as a virtual tour of the Tarxien Megalithic Temples, located in Tarxien, Malta, providing multimedia, interactive tour, an exclusive audio guide, all within a multilingual setup.
Otus and Heritage Malta are committed to safeguard your personal information, and by no means we will collect information which is not given voluntarily by you. Any personal information which you give us is stored as per Malta's Data Protection Act 2001.
Types of collected data
When you access or use our Application, we may automatically collect information about you. This includes:
Geo-location
When you visit the Application, we may use GPS technology to determine your current location. This is to be used within the virtual tour, which allows tour points to automatically change according to one's location in the Tarxien Temples site. We will not share your current location with other users or partners. If you do not want us to use your location for the purposes set forth above, you should turn off the location services in your mobile phone settings. This will still allow you to go through the tour points, manually.
In-app purchases
The Application provides a way to access additional content through its premium version. In-app purchases are purchases performed from within a mobile application to obtain special content and features. When you purchase the premium version, your billing details are directly handled and processed securely by Google Play or Apple's App Store. Your payment information is not stored anywhere on the Application, with the only piece of information kept by us is your basic personal information, which identifies your purchase.
Device information
We may require to access your device details to provide functionality specific to your device. The information used includes, and is limited to, the platform and model of your device. No other personal information is requested
Network information
The Application makes use of a mechanism called "caching" which stores some content locally on your device. This provides faster access to content. Access to your network details allows the Application to determine from where the content will be serviced. Should no network be available, the content will be served from the data stores.
Additional information
For operation and maintenance purposes, the Application and any third party services may collect files that record interaction with this Application, including system logs.
Before downloading the Application, both Google Play and Apple's App Store provide a list of services to access specific capabilities or information on your device.
Security
The information provided and collected is safeguarded and protected from illicit use. Only the Owner, the Client and authorised users are allowed access to the data, given that they require such data to operate, develop or improve the Application. Although security procedures are in place, this cannot prevent all potential security breaches.
Changes to Privacy Policy
The Owner reserves the right to carry out changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes applied will be evidenced by the change of date at the top of the policy. We strongly recommend to review the Privacy Policy regularly to stay informed about our information practices and the ways you can help protect your privacy. By continuing to use our Application, you consent and abide by the Privacy Policy described.
